On March 17th, University of Szeged celebrated the 6th annual International Cultural Evening (ICE 2017). It was held by the International Student Union of Szeged with the help of Faculty of Medicine and students representatives from all over the world. This event is the biggest international students’ party in Szeged that brings our school community together in celebration of our wonderful diversities.
The show began with an introduction from the president of International Student Union Ribal Makhoul and a speech by Prof. Ferenc Bari, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Around 1500 professors and students attended this evening, and we also had some special ambassador gueststhis year: H.E. Mr. Abdelkader DEHENDI, Ambassadors from Algeria, H.E. Mr. Rahul CHHABRA, Ambassadors from India, H.E. Mr. Gholamali RAJABI YAZDI, Ambassadors from Iran, Mr. Zaid Ibrahim Naffa, Honorary Consul, Ambassadors from Jordan, H.E. Mr. Muhammad Syrus Sajjad QAZI, Ambassadors from Pakistan, and Őexc. Marie Antoinette SEDIN, Ambassadors from Palestine.
The chorus by Germany team was a beautiful and exciting start, then came the Spanish latino songs, the Pakistan cultural showcase, the Hungarian folk dance, the hot dance by ISUS Dance which shows the feeling of being a foreign student, the piano performance from Iran, Japanese team brought the fisherman dance show, and the rock song that performed by South Korea. All the audiences enjoyed this incredible multicultural show with unstoppable applause and cheer.

Then, right after the show was tasty food. There were 20 countries specialities represented that every guests could experience culture by the bite of original taste.
It was a fun-filled evening with various countries’ unique shows, cultural decorations not to mention the delicious food that one got to sample, meanwhile efforts are made to promote our campus culture in a more divers and international way, which provides a window for our professors and students to understand the world and for the world to understand our university.
