Sunday morning, the University of Szeged, Faculty of Dentistry held a special celebration meeting, where the Hungarian and the foreign first-year students took their oath.
The Oath-taking ceremony was held in the event hall of the University , where the following leaders represented the Faculty of Dentistry:
Dr. Zoltán Baráth, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; Professor Márta Radnai, Vice-Dean; Dr. Krisztina Buzás, Advisor on Scientific Affairs; Dr. Anette Stájer, Advisor on Clinical Affairs; Dr. Kinga Turzó, Head of the Department of Oral Biology and Experimental Dental Research; Dr. Márk Fráter, Head of the Department of Operative and Esthetic Dentistry; Eszter Kocsis, Head of the Dean’s Office; Dániel Bokor, President of the Hungarian Student’s Union at the Faculty of Dentistry.
Dr. Zoltán Baráth Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry opened the ceremony with his welcoming speech.
Finally, the Dean wished all the Colleagues and students a good start to the school year, with some wise words from Albert Szent-Györgyi: "The school is for learn how to learn, to awaken the desire for knowledge, to know the pleasure of the good work, to taste the excitement of creating, and find the work what you will love"
After the Dean’s speech, , Róbert Lackner and Danial Radmehr - new students - read the oath text in Hungarian and in English. Together with them, the first-year students presented their students oath. After taking the oath, Dr. Zoltán Baráth Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, welcomed the new university students with a handshake.
The first-year students were welcomed with some kind words by Daniel Bokor, the President of the Hungarian Students Union at the Faculty of Dentistry.
In the end, Regina Schindler, a 5th year dental student surprised the guests with a musical performance playing a short piano piece.
