Since 19 December, 2015 the opening hours of the Klebelsberg Library and József Attila Study and Information Centre has changed. University of Szeged close its gates at 4 pm, December 23, 2015 and opening them at 8 am, January 4, 2016. The winter closure does not affect the buildings where health or public entities operate.

QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) has published the latest ranking of universities in Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA) with the region’s top 150 universities on Wednesday 21st October 2015. It is an excellent result that the University of Szeged (USz) is ranked on the 13rd place in this ranking. With this result USz has been in the top 10 percentage.

The Faculty of Dentistry, University of Szeged hosted the 41st annual dental education meeting in Szeged from 24-29 August this year. The topic around which the congress was organized was communication and interaction in dentistry, and common feedback says Hungary and Szeged lived up to the modern-day communicational expectations of international speakers and delegates.
Mahjong Night, which became quite popular, had been organized sever times by SZTE Confucius Institute.

Chinese New Year or Moon Year (Chinese: Chunjie, „Spring Festival”) is the biggest celebration for 1/4 of the world’s population. The time of the Spring festival – similarly to our Eastern – changes year by year. Thanks to the event organized by SZTE Confucius Institute guests can learn more about this holiday on Sunday afternoon in Szeged.
The greenest Hungarian university is still the university of Szeged and at the same time it even improved its „green position”: out of 360 applicants it reached 19th place on the newest world ranking list of 2014. In the European green top list the universitas on the bank of river Tisza gained 11th place.
The awards of the competition called "For the International Development of Higher Education 2014" were presented at the conference “Internationalization of Higher Education in Hungary”. Two units of the University of Szeged - the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Szeged and the Klebelsberg Library of the University of Szeged – were also recognized for their work and program performed for foreign students.

QS Quacquarelli Symonds has launched a new ranking of universities in Emerging Europe and Central Asia with the region’s top 100 universities. Six Hungarian universities were added to the list, it is an excellent result that the University of Szeged is ranked on the 22nd place.
Szeged is among the 10 best university cities in Europe according to Condé Nast Traveler portal.
